A.L. Brown High School's Cheerleaders have won the Universal Cheerleaders Association's regional competition and will represent North Carolina in the National High School Cheerleading Championships.

 

The A.L. Brown Cheerleaders took first place in the UCA's Regional Championships in Greensboro on Saturday, November 17th. The team won the Varsity Coed competition and will represent North Carolina at the National High School Cheerleading Championships in February. It is the first time that an A.L. Brown High School Cheerleading squad has qualified for national competition.

 

Besides winning the Varsity Coed title at the UCA event, A.L. Brown High School won a second place award in the Game Day Cheerleading category. The Wonders Cheerleaders also won the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s (NCHSAA) pre-state competition in Raleigh on November 10th and will compete at the NCHSSA’s State Cheerleading Invitational on December 1st.  Last year, the Wonders Cheerleaders placed second in the NCHSSA’s State Cheerleading Invitational.

 

The Wonders Cheerleaders will travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida on February 7th to represent North Carolina in the UCA’s National High School Cheerleading Championships. The Wonders Cheerleaders are coached by Brittney Speights and James Busse. Both are teachers at A.L. Brown.
