Miss North Carolina United States, Elizabeth Safrit, visited A.L. Brown High School to encourage seniors to register to vote and take part in the democratic process. Safrit is a 2010 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, and she will graduate from the University of South Carolina in May.

Safrit is traveling the state encouraging young people to register to vote and become active as citizens in their communities. During her presentation, she spoke with seniors and explained the steps to getting registered to vote. She also told them the importance of voting and encouraged them to register and take part in upcoming elections. Kannapolis Mayor, Darrell Hinnant, also spoke with students. He explained how important local government is to the students' daily lives and encouraged them to get involved in government and civic activities.

We appreciate Elizabeth Safrit speaking to students at her alma mater, and we are extremely proud of her accomplishments.
