KEF Chairman, Joe Trull, presented the check to Superintendent, Dr. Pam Cain, and KCS Technology Director, Brenda McCombs, during the March 10 Board of Education meeting.

The KEF contribution is buying 70 iPads for fourth grade classrooms across Kannapolis City Schools as well as other Apple classroom technology. With this donation, the Kannapolis Education Foundation has now contributed nearly $100,000 to buy classroom iPads for Kannapolis City Schools.

Most of the $30,000 given by the Kannapolis Education Foundation on March 10 was raised during a 20th anniversary fundraising breakfast in January. That event honored the family of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and featured a generous donation from the Dale Junior Foundation. Dale Earnhardt, Sr. helped start the Kannapolis Education Foundation in 1994 by donating the proceeds of Dale Earnhardt Day as the seed money for starting the Kannapolis Education Foundation.

Since the KEF was founded, it has donated approximately $700,000 to the students and teachers of Kannapolis City Schools.

KCS is extremely grateful to the Kannapolis Education Foundation for its continuing support. We also thank the Dale Junior Foundation and the many community members who donate to the Kannapolis Education Foundation. Their support gives our students additional resources and helps prepare them for lifelong success.
