A.L. Brown High School senior, Justin Rodgers, has been named a national finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame & U.S. Army Award for Excellence. Rodgers was honored during a special ceremony at A.L. Brown High School on April 25th. The ceremony included pro Football Hall of Fame member, Dwight Stephenson.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame & U.S. Army Award for Excellence is given to students that display excellence in athletics, academics, and community service. Rodgers has been a member of the A.L. Brown football team and has a grade point average of 4.76. He also is active in multiple community service projects including helping with the Exceptional Children’s prom and mentoring elementary students.

Rodgers was selected from among thousands of high school applicants across the country as one of 25 students who are finalists to win the Pro Football Hall of Fame & U.S. Army Award for Excellence. To mark his selection as a finalist, Rodgers received a plaque and a special Hall of Fame jacket from Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Dwight Stephenson. Stephenson played in the NFL from 1980 to 1987 as a member of the Miami Dolphins. He was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.

This summer, Justin Rodgers will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Canton, Ohio where he will be part of the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame game and where the winner of the Pro Football Hall of Fame & U.S. Army Award for Excellence will be announced.
