The Kannapolis City Board of Education has announced that Angelo DelliSanti will become the new principal of A.L. Brown High School in June. DelliSanti will replace Dr. Todd Parker who announced earlier this year that he would leave A.L. Brown at the end of the school year.

Mr. DelliSanti began his education career as a teacher at A.L. Brown High School in 2007. He held several leadership roles at A.L. Brown, including Freshman Academy Team Leader, School Improvement Team member, and Superintendent’s Leadership Team member. In 2012, he moved to the Mooresville Graded School District to become assistant principal of Mooresville Middle School. In 2014, he became principal of Jesse C. Carson High School in the Rowan-Salisbury School District. In that role, he has led the school to tremendous academic growth. Under DelliSanti’s leadership, Jesse Carson High School has maintained a graduation rate of approximately 90%, has exceeded the state’s academic growth expectations for three consecutive years, and has increased the value of scholarships earned by students from $750,000 to $7.2 million in four years. Because of his outstanding leadership, DelliSanti was named the 2017-2018 Rowan-Salisbury Schools Principal of the Year.

KCS Superintendent, Dr. Chip Buckwell, believes DelliSanti is the perfect person to lead A.L. Brown High School. “Angelo DelliSanti is an amazing educator,” Buckwell said. “He is a natural leader who has shown a tremendous ability to reach students and develop outstanding relationships with staff and the community. He has had success in all his roles as an educator, and he loves A.L. Brown High School. He knows the school extremely well and still has strong relationships in the community. We are excited about Mr. DelliSanti returning to Kannapolis City Schools to lead A.L. Brown High School.”

DelliSanti says he is looking forward to returning to A.L. Brown High School. “One of my life’s greatest goals and dreams has been to become principal of A.L. Brown High School,” DelliSanti said. “I have spent the last twelve years dedicated to serving students, and I believe the work I have done has prepared me for leading the students and staff of A.L. Brown. I am excited about the opportunity to return to the school where I began my career, and I am looking forward to getting to know the students and staff of A.L. Brown.”

Angelo DelliSanti is earning his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from UNC Charlotte. He received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from UNC Charlotte. He also earned the Phillip Morris Educational Leadership Doctoral Fellowship and the Rowan-Salisbury Schools Extraordinary Education Award.

DelliSanti will begin his role as principal of A.L. Brown High School at the end of June.
