Our Strategic Plan

It is difficult to believe we are already in the last full month of school. It has been
a wonderful year so far, and I am very proud of our students and staff. However,
more lies ahead, and I believe it is extremely important to make a strong finish
and remain focused on high quality instruction until the last day of school.  

This is the month when we give North Carolina’s end of grade tests to measure how well our students are achieving.  Of course, we are always focused on academic excellence in Kannapolis City Schools, but we also are dedicated to preparing children to become outstanding citizens who can succeed in all aspects of their lives.

It is so rewarding to see the initiatives our students have started on their own. One is a Habitat House project where students and staff are not only building a Habitat house but also raising the funds. The idea came from A.L. We also have students who have started their own high school club and who are returning chivalry one tie at a time. They call themselves the TIE TUESDAY CLUB, and they are setting an example by wearing ties to school each Tuesday. They promote respect wherever they go and mentor young boys at Kannapolis Intermediate School to help them become outstanding citizens as well. These are just two examples of the outstanding ways our students are making a difference. We are committed to excellence in all aspects of our children’s education, and we thank you for your support. Together, we are creating the future and looking forward to even more success in Kannapolis City Schools.
